Simon “Lazypaws” Hauri was born in 1986 during a snowstorm—a moment that, in retrospect, seems almost symbolic of the quiet yet distinctive path he would follow. As the son of a painter, he was exposed to colors, shapes, and the creative process from an early age. Drawing was always part of his everyday life; it was less a hobby and more a natural form of expression.
From a young age, Simon developed a strong fascination with manga, anime, and video games. These visual worlds left a lasting impression on his imagination and became a central source of inspiration for his later artistic work. Characters, moods, and narrative imagery from these media found their way early on into his sketchbooks.
Initially, Simon chose a more down-to-earth professional path and completed an apprenticeship as a chef. After several years in the culinary field, he worked in a bar, where he appreciated hands-on work, the rhythm of long nights, and direct interaction with people. Yet art was always present in his life and never truly let him go.
Eventually, he decided to take this inner calling more seriously and attended an art school for a short period of time. This was followed by a formative phase in a tattoo studio, where he further refined his drawing skills and learned to translate art directly onto the human body.
Simon’s current art exists at the intersection of manga aesthetics, video game culture, and traditional painting. It combines modern pop culture with classical techniques and personal expression. His works reflect a lifelong engagement with images, stories, and imagined worlds—shaped by a childhood full of drawing, a diverse professional journey, and a consistent return to art.
